To Bill, the real purpose of business is to build value by making something worth more than it was when you first discovered it. Bill has been successfully building value his whole life. His business ventures have spanned many industries, but more importantly he has always used his resources and experience to support the community around him, focused on making it a better place.
Bill is CEO of The Monarch Corporation where he upholds family tradition of being active on many fronts, always looking for the next opportunity and ready for the next challenge. The Company has four active divisions related to transportation, real estate, sports properties and public and private investment portfolios. He was previously Chairman and CEO of Monarch Communications Inc., the parent Company of Monarch Broadcasting Ltd. and Monarch Cable systems Ltd.
Bill has a passion for sports, holding many leadership roles in various sports as well as working to connect young athletes to scholarships and training opportunities. One of his private companies, CSH International, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary, was the first independent operator of a complete organized minor league baseball system. Overtime the company operated baseball, basketball and hockey franchises in 14 difference leagues, covering twelve states and one province.
One of Bill’s major philanthropic efforts saw the Yuill Family Foundation contribute $2 million to help create the Margery E. Yuill Cancer Centre at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. The Foundation is also a major supporter of education.
Mr. Yuill is a graduate of the Young President’s Organization, Alberta Chapter and is a member and past chairman of the World President’s Organization, Alberta Chapter.
Bill has been involved in community organizations including the Medicine Hat College Foundation, the Medicine Hat and District United Way and the Medicine Hat Family YMCA. Bill and his wife, Elizabeth, reside in Medicine Hat, Alberta where he stands by his hometown.
